What ParishProof does

ParishProof is a compliance dashboard purpose-built for parish and town council clerks. It tracks every compliance obligation your internal auditor checks — SAPPP assertions, Transparency Code, GDPR, website accessibility, and financial regulations — in one place.

Who it's for

Part-time parish and town council clerks in England. The sole paid officer managing finance, planning, HR, FOIs, and governance on 5–15 hours a week, typically at £12–18/hour. Also useful for internal auditors assessing parish councils through the AGAR process, and county association officers supporting clusters of councils.

Why it exists

The 2025 SAPPP Practitioners' Guide added Assertion 10 — digital and data compliance — to the annual audit. Clerks are now assessed on council-owned domains, email systems, IT policies, website accessibility, GDPR compliance, and data handover procedures. On top of existing obligations around publication schemes, transparency code, financial regulations, and governance statements.

No compliance tracking software exists at any price point for parish councils. The only "tools" are PDF and Word templates from trade bodies. When audit season arrives (April–June for AGAR), clerks scramble to assemble evidence across scattered files. ParishProof solves that.
